Byron A. Haney came to the practice of law later in life.

Byron was raised in Brownwood, Texas, by his attorney-father and community servant-mother. Having witnessed the benefits of a life spent in service, Byron attended Texas A&M as a fourth-generation Aggie with a goal to spend his life the same way. After 10 years in the insurance and financial services industry, Byron moved his family from the bustle of Houston to the rural quiet of Franklin, Texas, where he served as the director of the Brazos Valley Financial Fitness Center and on the boards of several charitable organizations in the Brazos Valley. All the while, Byron pursued a secondary passion for education, earning three master’s degrees in business, studying civil engineering and financial planning as a post-baccalaureate, and finally achieving the childhood ambition of graduating from Baylor Law School in 2021.

During his time at Baylor Law, Byron was a Student Ambassador, was chosen as the venerable-Professor Guinn’s final clerk, competed in multiple interscholastic competitions, survived Practice Court under Professors Wren, Powell, Counseller and Fraley, then served as an aid to the Practice Court program, and earned the Special Distinction in Litigation along-side his Juris Doctorate.

After graduation, Byron found his home in Jacksonville, Texas. There, together with the love-of-his-life (Sherri), he has raised one son (Tyler) and is raising three daughters (Madison, McKinley, and Kennedy).
